How to place more than 112 shortcuts on your
desktop and still have heaps of free space leftover

Would you believe that my desktop provides instant access to 112 different programs and - as the picture shows - leaves me heaps of uncluttered room to work in.

Well... it's true!

  • 12 programs via Normal icons - most located on left hand side of screen

  • 11 programs via Quick Launch Bar - located on left side of status bar (near the Start button)

  • 22 programs via Notification Bar - located on right side of status bar
    (near the clock)

  • 67 programs via The ToolBox - located around the top, the bottom and the right hand side of the screen

Not only that but it's also possible to group your programs by category.

I made 6 specific groups... the 7th is the standard Windows group like My Documents, Recycle Bin, etc. Top left hand side

  1. Internet Tools Group - Dial-Up Connection to my ISP, Browsers, Outlook Express, FTP programs, and other often used miscellaneous programs
  2. Audio Group - Recorder and sound editors
  3. Apps Group - Power DVD, Nero and other application type programs
  4. Web Tools Group - JavaScript Editor, Keyword Analyzers & other essential tools for building web pages.
  5. Utilities Group - Windows Explorer, Control Pannel, Download Manager, WinRAR and other essential Utils
  6. Graphic Programs - Photoshop, Swish, Camtasia and other important Graphic tools.

This arrangement helps me to locate the program I want instantly. Imagine the difficulty of finding - say - the notepad that you know is located somewhere among more than 100 different icons on the desktop!

Thanks to "The ToolBox" I can now quickly start any frequently used program and get on with the job without any fuss.

If I want to change the background, no problem. "The ToolBox" can be made transparent so it will always look good.

"The ToolBox" has many controls that allows you to customize the final look.

And best of all... "The ToolBox" is completely free!
